FFERNANDO’s music is a collision of moody introspection and Brazilian soul, blending the dark, poetic depth of artists like Leonard Cohen, Jeff Buckley, Radiohead, and Fiona Apple with the warmth and rhythmic vibrancy of Brazilian music. Bossa Nova, Samba, and Afro-Brazilian percussion subtly weave into his sound, along with traditional instruments rarely heard in alternative pop and rock. His deep, eerie voice adds an otherworldly intensity, shaping a bittersweet sonic landscape where melancholy and movement coexist. His debut single, Boys Don’t Cry, along with its Brazilian Portuguese version, Era uma Casa, arrives this March, setting the stage for his self-produced debut album, Fossa Nova. A melancholic and intimate journey, Fossa Nova explores themes of masculinity, neurodiversity, and politics, unraveling the complexities of identity and emotion through a lens that is both personal and universal.
